Massachusetts State Lottery winner: $270,000 Keno winner used birthdays, license plate and son’s race car number to pick winning ticket numbers

John Griffith used birthdays, his license plate and his son’s race car number to pick multiple lucky numbers last week.

The Hudson, New Hampshire resident won $270,000 after three of his Keno tickets won in the Massachusetts State Lottery.

The $270,000 was before taxes and he was presented with three checks for $63,900 for a total of $191,700.

The tickets also played the Keno Bonus, which increased the winnings.

“Playing Keno Bonus doubles the price of a wager, while offering players the chance to multiply their prizes by the value of the Bonus multiplier for that game,” the lottery said in a statement. “The Bonus multiplier for this game was 10x, multiplying the $9,000 prize on each of his three winning tickets to $90,000 for a total of $270,000.”

Griffith claimed his winnings Dec. 15 at the lottery’s Lawrence claim center. He purchased his winning tickets at Mutual Oil in Tyngsborough, which is located at 397 Middlesex Road. The store will also receive a total of $9,000 in bonuses for the sale of these tickets.

Seven other $90,000 winning tickets sold at this location for the same Keno drawing remain unclaimed, the lottery said.
